Much nicer weather today!
Calm and sunny, but fishing wasn’t better. We did hook (and unfortunately lost) a big dolphin on the reef edge, (crap!). Not the normal time of year for big Mahi and not where you expect to find them.
Did get some nice big Barracudas on the Reef!

Little breezy today and honestly, the watercolor was not good.
Got a few fish on the reef including this big barracuda we released.
This fish did put on a great show. Jumping multiple times on light spinning tackle

Saturday’s cold front came back to the north yesterday as a warm front. Sunday was mostly rain, but by this morning, the weather had cleared and it was a beautiful, warm sunny day!
And the Black Fin & Skipjack Tuna bit for us!
November 17, 2018
We had a cold front come through the area on Friday. It was the first cold front of the year and we need the cooler weather to make the fishing “right” this time of year, but unfortunately, it made the Black Fin Tuna stop biting, (for now). So we went to the reef and caught some grouper and mackerel for dinner.
Keeper Black Grouper caught Trolling
2nd Black Grouper caught trolling. Same angler and same sized fish!
Few Barracudas on the reef, but not as many as I expected and not many big ones. This cold front should “push” the bait out to the reef as the shallow water gets cooler.
That should get the action going!
An excellent Dinner awaits! Black Grouper is considered the best eating of the Groupers we have in these waters. I rarely get to eat it because it is so good I always encourage my customers to take. The only fish I think I like better maybe Mutton Snapper, but it’s really close and you can’t go wrong with either.

Good Morning!
Black Fin Tuna were biting this morning.
Pretty easy half day!
A good time was had by all!
