Full Day Today
Offshore again looking for Mahi.
Same beautiful weed line still there. It’s made up of Sargasso Weed. It’s a natural, free floating weed that grows on the surface of the ocean. This weed provides a habitat for small critters, (shrimp, crabs and baitfish). Larger fish know this and prowl the weed looking for a meal. That’s why we like to fish along the weed.
The East current in the deep is running 2 kts. or more. That’s a lot of current and we’ve been fishing this weed line for 6 days now. Think about it, at 2 kts. the part of the weed we fished today is almost 50 miles passed Key West by tomorrow. That means that after 6 days, this weed line is at least 300 miles long and there is no end in sight. It has to end sooner or later,
but until it ends, the fishing should be good……
And fishing was!

just go for “bites” in the calmer water
It worked!

2 Trips Today
Morning
It was a bit “sporty” today. In the morning we went offshore looking for Dolphin. By the time we found the East current and weed line, it was time to start heading back north. I wish we had more time as it looked very “fishy”
Afternoon
Ocean side was a bit sporty so we opted to go in the gulf to keep everyone comfortable.
Barracuda action was Ok, but a bit slower than we had hoped

Full Day Today
Fishing was good
Strong East current is moving in from offshore.
This makes it a little bumpy, but is good for the fishing. I left for a hunting trip on the 4th,
but Capt. John Glass found some great fish for these folks
Bull Dolphin
Sailfish Released!
