Barracudas and Bonitos
Found a Frigate bird in the Water on the way home. These birds
live and feed on the water all their lives, but
they can't swim. If they land in the water they can't get airborne again and
will drown.
We found this one struggling in the harbor and brought it in and turned it over
to Wild Life Rescue

so we took his picture and told him to go away
Really big Yellow Tail Snapper
Sharks and a Barracuda gave us some trouble, but the Yellow
Tails we caught were Beauties!

Lots of big Bonitos
We had 6 fish on at one time more than once during the day!
Bonitos are not a good eating fish, but are a blast to catch. Very strong fighters.
They are a great bait for Grouper, Snapper
and Sharks,
so we kept about a dozen and released about 20 others

Morning was very slow.
The water was stirred up from a storm the night before
Only Caught a Barracuda and a Mackerel
In the Afternoon the Tide moved clean water in
and the fishing was much better on the reef
Spent some time offshore looking for Tuna,
but didn't get any.
We headed in at sunset and had This spectacular view on the
ride home

Due to an approaching cold front, we had very strong winds out of the South.
Seas on the South side of Key West were 8-10
ft
so we opted for smoother water in The Gulf of Mexico.
We caught 6 nice Kingfish and a Spanish mackerel!

Still Plenty of Big Barracudas on the Reef!
Had some trouble with predators eating our fish on the way in

6 Hour trip this morning and the reef action
was great!

Plenty of Cero Mackerel and had a Sailfish on for a short
while but lost it !

Finally got a break from the cool weather we've been having. Warm, (low 70's), calm and sunny today, but it's not going to last. Another cold front arrives tomorrow with wind, rain and near record cold temps
